Background
I started life as an agnostic at an early age and questioned the existence of God. I was angry and always in trouble in school. I had a Godly grandmother who prayed for all of her grandchildren. She was a fun person who always took an interest in me. When I got in my early teens she invited me to spend a week at a Christian Camp during the summer. She had a Christian family who had a boy my age drive the two of us to camp.
During that week I heard the plan of salvation and at a particular meeting a lay person talked about the rapture and Christ's return. The Holy Spirit convicted me that I had to make myself right with God. I knew I could not do this by my strength. I would always failed. When I heard that Jesus Christ paid the penalty I deserved it made perfect logical sense to me. The fact that Jesus would return put me under conviction. That started a life long interest in Bible Prophecy.
Conversion
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
I had no problem understanding this truth. I knew and admitted my sin. The Bible is the only book that gets to the bottom line of our depravity.
1 John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
I had to be honest with my self and with God.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
I knew this is what I deserved based on my actions. I wanted God's gift of eternal life.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
I believed that Jesus is the son of God and that he paid for the penalty of my sins. But I had to receive him by repenting of my sins and asking him to take control of my life.
I received Jesus Christ as my LORD and Savior and He changed my life.
Growth
Receiving Jesus is just the beginning. I need him to change my attitude and life style by
studying His word and communication with him through prayer. I need to be in God's house and fellowship with other believers. This is a life long process and you continue to grow but you don't reach perfection until he calls you home.
Present Walk
The longer I am a Christian the more I am dependant on His power to live a Godly life style and consult Him for guidance in every area of my life.
Future
I am eagerly looking for the rapture. Everything that takes place in this world does not surprise me or scare me because I understand His eternal plan and understand why certain things are happening. I also understand why He has me here on this earth.
I need to share his plan with others so that they would be part of His Kingdom and would not be faced with eternal suffering. 2 Peter Chapter 3 says He is not willing that any perish. I also understand I will have to give account for my actions on this earth at the Judgment seat of Christ.
